Government Set to Close Solar FIT Loophole
The government are working to close a loophole in solar feed-in tariffs created earlier this year that allows developers to add new systems to their array on preceeding payment tariffs.
Provided systems are installed within 12 months of a system on a higher-tariff rate, developers can add to the system at the same rate. The government is working to close the loophole, though there may be months until anything comes into effect.
British Gas and Toyota recently launched a 4.6MW solar park near the manufacturer's Derby factory, featuring 17,000 solar PV panels. As the array was installed before August 1st, it is eligible for the higher FIT payments.
